The Willough at Naples is based on the bio-psychosocial model of treating Co-occurring Disorders. We believe that mental health issues, including Depression, Anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder, to name a few, commonly overlap with Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency. In combination, this is also known as having a Dual-Diagnosis condition. All problems related to having a Dual-Diagnosis need to be addressed in order for stabilization to occur. For most patients, Dual Diagnosis treatment involves treating not only the mind, but the body and spirit as well. Life stresses, family issues, brain biology, medical problems, and management of mood and behavior are all taken into account in this treatment model. We use a multidisciplinary treatment approach, involving therapists, psychiatrists, advanced nurse practitioners, master’s level social workers, nutritionists, the recovery community, and a dedicated nursing and mental health staff to help you rediscover a functional life once again. In addition, we believe your condition has not only impacted your life, but the lives of many others around you. Your family and significant others will hopefully participate in your treatment, so that they can develop a better understanding of your illness and learn how to be an advocate for you on your new journey.
Our Dual-Diagnosis model of treatment has been found to be the most effective approach in treating your illness. While here, you will be participating in extensive group therapy, individual sessions, and various other therapeutic modalities of treatment. You will meet with the treatment team and contribute to your own treatment plan. You will not be alone in your journey. You will have many opportunities to learn from the mistakes and successes of your peers as you commit to your new approach in life.
In the end, treatment and recovery is your number one responsibility. It is your job, while at The Willough at Naples, to create a stable foundation for a successful future. We have an excellent staff of qualified professionals to help you understand and find answers to those questions you have avoided asking until now. We also have many tools to offer you during your treatment. However, no one here has a “magic wand” to fix your illness for you. Our job is to give you the tools to help stabilize your condition; it is your job to learn how to use them. Recovery from any illness takes hard work and effort. All that we ask is for you to be open minded, to be willing to learn, and most of all, to be honest. All three are truly needed for a successful treatment process to begin.
In Their Own Words
We know the fear and anxiety you may be feeling now that you have made the first step toward treatment. Our promise to you is that we will support and assist you in your journey in any way that we can. Our wish for you is that you take advantage of your treatment while you are here so that you never have to return to a life of misery. We want to offer you the freedom to start a new journey in life and discover the person you were meant to be.
For those of you who have made attempts at success prior to now, please remember the following:
No one who walks through our doors at The Willough at Naples is a “loser.” A “slow winner” maybe, but never a “loser.” Welcome to our program and to the beginning of a new life’s journey.
