Port St. Lucie Hospital has programs that address a broad spectrum of substance abuse and mental health issues. Our Programs are designed for individuals who are exhibiting one or more of the following symptoms:
- Drug or alcohol addiction
- Drug or alcohol detoxification
- Inability to concentrate
- Wandering or confusion about surroundings
- Loss of appetite
- Increased anxiety
- Relationship crisis
- Agitation
- Weight loss
- Depression, hopelessness, or isolation
- Restlessness, disorientation, hyperactivity
Dual Diagnosis Specialty
The Dual Diagnosis Program at Port St. Lucie Hospital provides treatment for co-occurring chemical dependency and mental health issues in an inpatient setting. Psychiatrists lead the treatment team to assure quality patient care.
The Treatment Team Consists of:
- An Attending Psychiatrist
- Licensed Therapists
- Psychiatric Nurses
- Mental Health Technicians
- Medical Consultants
Our patients meet with members of their treatment team at least three times weekly to ensure the best possible treatment for the individual’s own specific needs.
The treatment team works with each individual to develop an individualized treatment plan. The treatment plan is reviewed and revised by the treatment team and the patient at least once per week. The attending psychiatrist closely supervises medication management.
The program provides mental health and addiction education classes to meet each patient’s specific needs and group therapies on a daily basis. Individual and family therapies are highly encouraged and are provided by our therapists.
Senior Adult Care
Port St. Lucie Hospital’s Older Adult Program provides a comprehensive evaluation and treatment process focusing on the strengths of each patient.
Client safety and quality services remain our top priority. The support and involvement of family and friends are critical to the recovery of individuals. Senior adult treatment services include:
- Structured programming
- Self-care skills
- Psychoeducational groups
- Daily medical monitoring/assessment
- Therapeutic activity groups
- Aftercare planning/Discharge planning
- Physical and occupational therapies
