This presentation covers, taking a good history, defining crisis, review of 5 axis as they relate to intervention clients and a protocol for suicidal and violent clients. We will also review Duty to report, working with outside agencies such as Police, EMS and Emergency rooms and finally, making an intervention case.

Objectives:

  1. Individuals will gain a better assessment techniques and interviewing strategies for complex populations
  2. Participants will gain better insight into how to plan a safe intervention for unstable clients.
  3. Participants will gain a basic understanding of how to work with Police, EMS and Emergency Rooms and assess levels of crisis.

Presenter:

Jane Eigner Mintz, M.A, PC, BCPC, BRI-II, CAI holds a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a Board Certified Professional Counselor, a Board Registered Interventionist (BRI-II), a Board Member of the Association for Intervention Specialists (AIS)and is a member of the National Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC).
